This week my partner Laura and I finished the epub and mobi project. There were a lot of issues making both of the files, the first of which was redoing the entire table of contents for the epub as it was lost when we opened the file in sigil. To fix this we exported another epub file from the same indesign file and pasted the table of contents over. Then when we came back we had lost the updated indesign file because it was on the lab computers not dropbox so we had to remake it.

This week me and Laura got our epub completely finished and it lookes quite well on a variety of devices. Now we just have to get the Mobi file made, this has been complicated by the fact that we do not have the adobe indesign file anymore so we have to remake it. Though that should only have about 15 to 20 minutes so we can easily get on the the mobi file and get the project done well before the end of class thursday.

This week I started working on converting the book Available Means into EPUB and MOBI with Laura. Tuesday we started out importing the file into Adobe Indesign and editing it so that It looked good. Thursday I installed sigil on my computer and added the Metadata to the file and validated the file so that It would run on a variety of devices. Now we will have to produce the MOBI file and do some final editing of the EPUB file.

This week me and patrick O'friel finished the documentation project. We discovered that we were not supposed to format the website so I had to spend a lot of time undoing all of the tables as the code that we made will be put into other websites and it will use their style sheets. We both sent in a file about our collaboration in the project and moved the finished project into a file in completed documentation. We also went over and looked at Adobe indesign in class to prepare for the next project.

Overview

This week we user tested our documentation, We discovered that for the process to get tables and charts out of word and to pull pictures out of word we needed a guide for the mac also. This was appended to the documentation beside the windows version using screen shots that I made. Overall our documentation did very well though we also had to add tags in our steps to other steps when we referenced them. Now all we need to do is get some revised screen shots for windows and complete the works cited.
