Book Project

Das Book

Hey.
My ebook is essentially completed. I have pandered around my family members' facebooks, personal blogs, and several dozen emailed photos. I am waiting for one or two more photos to come in, but I should be ordering it in the next week or so. It shoud look pretty good and it was insanely easy to make.

Book Project Update

Though I had originally planned on doing a book about the future of the book, I was extremely intrigued by the xtranormal video we saw in class. I think that this is an interesting concept, and rather than doing a book, I will be making a video. I plan on, if I can find the characters, having young “actors” playing a game of 20 questions. The questions will be things that will lead viewers (and one of the characters) to think of things like a computer, a video game, a cell phone, etc. but in the end we will find out that it was a book.

Book Project Update

This might be sort of last moment, but I realized that the scope of my individual project was too big and I think I am going to simplify it, while still keeping many of my original ideas in place.

Taking Aliki's How A Book Is Made, I want to create an updated version for ebook publishing. While some of the steps would be similar, such as an author writing, the entire process, especially the creative process is changed.

Book project update

I've decided to use Blurb instead of a comic strip in my book project. I'm still going to interview people about their opinions of the "future of the book" and I'm going to use those suggestions that I got from class.

Book Project Progress Report

I have decided not to create what I think a future book will look like. I would rather research and include images of what is in the works as of now. I may also include sketches of what a future book may look like.

Development of Book Project Proposal

I have decided to take my book project in a different direction (a more practical direction, at least). I originally intended to create a comic book on Comic Life using my original artwork to express my definition of a book and it's future iterations. The best laid plans of mice and men go awry, however, when one realizes that he doesn't have ANY original artwork that relates to or even depicts books. I briefly entertained the idea of creating the content, but I'm not the most punctual person in the world so I figured it'd be wise not to even put myself in that situation.

Development Project

My book review project, in the form of a Blurb book, will be called, simply, “The Future of the Book” in order to keep the topic of the class (and project) in focus: how will books change in the future and how are they already changing?

I plan on answering this question by doing a brief history of the book. I will then use Eisenstein’s book to draw parallels between history and the future. The difficult aspect of this part of the project will be re-reading Eisenstein’s book and finding these parallels.
